In painting, I like to work with acquired images, many from nostalgic
popular art, which I manipulate and distort
using digital technology and xerography. I project these images onto
the canvas to use as templates for the painted
images which I layer and distress to create abstractions that are
weathered and worn. I prefer to leave my canvases
unframed, in keeping with a pictoral environment that is a cross
between a peeling billboard and a threadbare tapestry.
